2008: Joy is actively serving 2-4 clients per day in northern California. These include prestigious retirement communities, healthcare centers, adult daycare programs, hospitals, skilled nursing and memory-impaired programs, rehabilitation programs, senior centers as well as children's parties and private parties fo social clubs (i.e.; SIRS, Retired Teachers, B'nai B'rith, etc.) and at people's homes and community centers, i.e.; birthdays. Currently playing a radius from San Jose to Healdsburg, Marin, San Francisco, East Bay, Napa/Sonoma and all the way to Fremont and Stockton! 2003 thru current: Joy relocates to San Francisco bay area from NYC and begins building her 'Music for Seniors' and entertainment services on the West Coast. 1984 until 2002: Joy sustained a long and versatile NIGHTCLUB AND CONCERT CAREER ( 1971-2002) as a popular blues singer/bassist and also cabaret entertainer with her own bands, and 'sideman' for other acts in the NYC metropolitan area. Based in Manhattan, he played electric bass and sang with many acts, including her own. She performed all over the Eastern Seaboard including NYC, Long Island, the five boroughs, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont, and some European touring. She acquired a vast performance experience entertaining in nightclubs, cabarets, concerts, weddings, bar mitzvahs, society parties t.v.shows, movies, cruise ships, society parties and more. NO ENTERTAINER IN THE BAY AREA BRINGS MORE PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE NOR FOCUSED DEDICATION TO THE 'MUSIC FOR SENIORS' ARENA. Listen to a sample of some highlights of Joy's recording and performing career (Click on song clips to the right on this page) 1998-2002: Joy began re-inventing herself on Taylor 410 -CE acoustic electric guitar in late 1990's to transition out of swiftly disappearing NYC nightclub market. 1976-1984: Blues band leader/bassist/singer and studio session vocalist based in Charlotte, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia. 1970-1976: Singer, bassist, 'sideman' in the midwestern Ramada Inn circuit, and show clubs; based in St. Louis, Missouri and Kalamazoo, Michigan . 1964-1970: Folksinger, guitarist, local favorite for parties, coffeehouses, and bandshell concerts in St. Joseph, MO. Beloved local 'single' as well as singing duo known as 'Carmen and Joy'.
